Bien Unido island gets power for the 1st time
Residents of the island of Hingutanan of Bien Unido town is set to get electricity for the first time, according to an information from the office of Rep. Erico Aristotle Aumentado.
This is an offshoot of follow ups made by Aumentado with the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) as early as mid-2019.
Aumentado also brokered an agreement with the Bohol II Electric Cooperative (Boheco II) for the latter to install the service drop wires and electric meters to all homes in the island once the NGCP delivers the generator set and accessories for the Hingutanan Diesel Power Plant (DPP).
Hingutanan Island is a beneficiary of NGCP’s off-grid project, the information from the solon’s office added.
Aumentado’s energization program aims to provide power even to the farthest islands in the second district, either by submarine cable as what he did in Mahanay Island, or overhead cables, or if too far, from the mainland, using stand-alone generator sets.
