Aris clears air on Dauis home

Second district Rep. Erico Aristotle Aumentado admits building a home in Dauis as he confirms the report posted by a blogger.

“Tinood man na [house], wala nako na ge-deny,” the solon said in a telephone interview with The Bohol Tribune yesterday, Feb. 6, 2020.

In the same telephone interview, the solon mentioned that he started building a home in Dauis in 2018 and the construction of the said house is still ongoing.

The work on the structure was stalled from time to time due to funding issues, the solon quipped.

Aumentado added that construction work on this house got re-started recently after obtaining funds from a loan.

“Dugay na na nga getrabaho pero gi-undang undangan kay wa’y kwarta hangtud naka loan mi,” the last-term congressman of the second district said.

The solon said that the Dauis property was used as a political issue during the 2019 polls.

“In fact, gi issue na na nila [referrig to the political opponents] sa 2019 election; ilahang gi kuhaan ug aerial view through drone during construction. Karon na paspas na ug trabaho tungod sa loan namo,” the solon bared.

Aumentado also said that the soon-to-be-completed house is a one-storey structure located in barangay Mariveles in Dauis.

The Bohol Tribune asked Aumentado why he is building a home in Dauis town, a place which is part of the first district. He answered by saying that he wants to be near the commercial centers located in Tagbilaran and the international airport, which is in Panglao town.

“Ang Tagbilaran man ang sentro [of commerce] ug duol pod sa airport [in Panglao],” the solon explained.

Moreover, the solon said his Dauis home will be open to visitors once completed.

“Suroy ta didto pohon labi na ug mag pista na,” he told The Bohol Tribune.

The information about Aumentado building a home in Dauis surfaced in a social media post of a blogger.

The blogger, in the same post, said that the structure being built by the Aumentados in Dauis is more like a “house” than a mansion.

The solon said in the interview that the structure looks huge because the house itself and the terrace are wide. Its design bearing a high ceiling also gives an impression that the property and the construction is big.

“Dako tan-awon kay lapad siya unya high ceiling unya gi padak-an ug terrace,” Aumentado said.
