DepEd Jagna receives P2.3M assistance from LGU

The Department of Education (DepEd) Jagna district receives P2.3million worth of assistance from the local government unit (LGU) led by Mayor Joseph A. Rañola, a report says.

Two (2) duplicating machines, two photocopier machines, 28 handheld radios and 182 reams of bond papers were turned over by the Mayor to the 28 head teachers led by Jagna District Supervisor Isidora Codilla on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021.

Rañola said that the assistance was taken from the 2020 Special Education Fund.

He added that more assistance will be given to DepEd Jagna to be taken from the 2021 local budget on SEF.

LGU’s are required to allocate budget for the Special Education Fund (SEF) in accordance with Republic Act No. 5447.

“We will make it sure that our local annual budget will be implemented in accordance with the spirit of equality and/or equity,” Rañola said.

For her part, Codilla, during the simple turn-over ceremony, expressed her profound gratitude to the LGU through Mayor Rañola.

The mayor is hoping that the LGU‘s assistance will somehow help the teachers in overcoming the challenges posed by the Coronavirus disease (Covid) pandemic.

It can be recalled that the blended learning system of education using modules posed various problems which included the scarcity of means in duplicating the learning materials.

For his part, Barangay Tubod Monte Punong Barangay Nicanor Salarda, who is now the President of Jagna Federated Teachers Parents Association, said that the P2.3 million assistance to the school district is the  first of its kind in Jagna. (Tonton Aniscal)
