Aris pushes for nat’l Covid vaccine rollout plan

Rep. Erico Aristotle of Bohol’s 2nd District pushes for a national plan for the roll out of the Coronavirus disease (Covid) vaccines, information from the office of the second district solon says.
This comes as the vaccines are expected to be rolled out within the month.

The solon sees the need of a rollout plan as early as late December of last year, prompting him to file a resolution in the last week of January, this year, mandating the concerned agencies to formulate guidelines to implement a Covid vaccine national implementation plan.
House Resolution No. 1499 resolved that the House of Representatives, through its appropriate committee or committees, enact a law mandating the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases in the Department of Health (DOH), and the National Task Force (NTF) to formulate national guidelines to implement a plan in terms of acquisition, evaluation, storage, distribution and administration of vaccines.
Aumentado said that the vaccines need to reach other provinces, not just Metro Manila and Cebu. The vaccines are sensitive and they need controlled cold temperatures, other the efficacy will turn questionable if shaken.
The Department of Health (DOH) successfully had a dry run simulating the arrival of the vaccines in the country. The vaccines, upon arrival at the international airport will be brought to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) and ultimately distributed to the Metro Manila hospitals.
The DOH even simulated possible adverse scenarios that may happen during the transport of the vaccines from the airport to the RITM and to the hospitals
Likewise, DOH rated the simulation of the arrival of the vaccine at the Cebu airport and the deployment to the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (DVSMMC) as successful.
