The strong woman at the top of the country’s tourism promotions body knows that Bohol has much to gain under leadership of Gov. Arthur Yap.
Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Chief Operating Officer Maria Antonette Velasco–Allones said Bohol is “super-blessed” having Yap at the helm and acting as the bridge between government and the tourism sector and committed to work in unison.
Joined by Department of Tourism (DOT) Sec. Bernadette Romulo-Puyat herself, they met via Zoom other provincial officials, industry keyplayers and other stakeholders, digital influencers and the press in the media launching of the Balik sa Bohol Online Sale (BBOS) on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021.
Participating resorts, adventure parks and tour operators are offering massive discounts on services and accommodations as much as 70%. The sale runs from February 21 to March 18, 2021.
Puyat and Allones congratulated and commended everyone behind the promotion blitz which the tourism secretary called as a way of reaffirming the value of partnership.
Allones visited Bohol twice, particularly in Panglao, in the last quarter of 2020.
She was with Puyat during the hybrid Philippine Travel Exchange (PhiTEX), in Sept. 2020.
Yap insists that while economic and tourism reopening effort is crucial, keeping Bohol safe from the impact of the virus remains the foremost concern.
Provincial Tourism Council (PTC) Chairman Lucas Nunag, Jr. and Panglao Mayor Leonila Montero also joined the virtual launch event.
Panglao tourists now have less-stringent requirements and no quarantine within the tourist bubbles. (with reports from Ven rebo Arigo)
