The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) approves a crucial local-national collaboration foreseen to spur new investments and economic activities in Bohol’s only city, Tagbilaran.

The SP passed a resolution, sponsored by Kag. Agustinus Gonzaga, allowing the partnership between the government of Tagbilaran City and Bureau of Investment (BOI).

The linkage provides for the sharing of information which are vital to business opportunities in the city.

Gonzaga and Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso, both believe the linkage is a necessary avenue leading to the efficient solution of investment issues and concerns.

The Tagbilaran-BOI tie-up will also help boost the city’s value as an investment haven for businessmen from all over the country and perhaps abroad.

For its part, the BOI welcomed the partnership which pursues its own vision of “Accelerating Investments, Industry Growth and Sustainable Jobs by 2022.”

Enhancing the image for investment is consistent with the strategy of encouraging domestic and foreign investors to do economic activities in the country.

As a necessary consequence of the tie-up, there will be new jobs and income generated for Tagbilaranons, Gonzaga said who chairs the Committee on Trade, Commerce and Industry at the SP.
