The Sangguniang Panglungsod (SP) of Tagbilaran plans to ask the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) to allow people who are living in one (1) roof to ride the same tricycle.
This was disclosed by Councilor Eliezer “Ondoy” Borja in a radio interview on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021, over Open Forum program hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.
He said that the city councilors agreed to ask the BIATF to allow tricycles in the city to serve more than one (1) passenger as long as they live in the same house.
The Department of Transportation (DoTR) last year came up with the policy allowing only one person to ride a tricycle to ensure social distancing is observed.
Borja said that it is impractical to disallow two (2) people who live under the same roof to ride the same tricycle. They are already living in the same house but they are not allowed to ride in the same tricycle, he added.
Meanwhile, Borja said while the proposal will allow 2 people living in the same roof to ride the same tricycle, tricycle drivers are forbidden to pick up another passenger if he had already a passenger. This, Borja added, is to prevent virus transmission as social distancing is no longer observed.
