Gov. Arthur Yap orders a probe on the killing of a village councilor in Balilihan as a staunched critic of Yap administration alleged that the perpetrators are persons who claim to be employees of the Provincial Capitol.

Capitol information cluster chief Kevin Damalerio shared the statement of the governor about the incident involving Hanopol Norte barangay kagawad Lucrecia Tasic,54.

The governor ordered the probe after reports surfaced that allegedly provincial employees were involved in the killing.

In a statement, the governor said that he is saddened to learn about Tasic’s murder. He added that it is inaccurate to say Capitol employees are involved in the killing as the police have just started the investigation.

“Atong gitahasan ang provincial director [Col. Joselito Clarito ] sa kapulisan sa atong lalawigan nga maghimo ug lawm nga imbestigasyon kalabot

sa insidente aron madakop ang mga kriminal sa labing daling panahon ug aron mahatagan ug hustisya ang biktima,” the governor said in a statement released on Tuesday evening.

Reports from Camp Dagohoy say Tasic, was talking with the suspects inside her home prior to the shooting incident. Her son was outside the house when the shooting incident occurred. The son heard gunshots and saw the suspects flee from crime scene.

Moreover, the son rushed into the house and found the elder Tasic gunned down sustaining gunshot wounds.

Reports add that the son heard the two suspects talk to Tasic and allegedly identified themselves as Capitol employees.
