Cristal e-College donates wifi vendo machines to 3 Panglao brgys.

Cristal e-College donates wifi vendo machines – one to each of the three (3) barangays in Panglao town to help improve connectivity in these areas especially for the students of the said school who are currently in school via online learning.

The Community Extension Service of Cristal e-College is the one handling the said project, according to an information from the school.

Pinky Rollorata, the Community Extension Officer of Cristal e-College told the Bohol Tribune that they identified the barangays of Poblacion, Looc and Bil-isan where most of Cristal e-College students reside and in dire need of connectivity.

Understanding the need for connectivity for students who are taking classes online, the management of the school decided to donate wifi vendo machines to the said barangays.

The school provides the machines but the cost of electricity, maintenance and the internet connection is shouldered by the barangays, Rollorata said.

She said that any person who wishes to connect to the internet may do so by dropping a P5 coin into the machine. After this, the person can now connect to the internet via wifi for an hour. If the time is up, a person may again drop another P5 coin for another session.

The machines will be installed near the barangay halls and the security of the machines will be handled by the barangay government, Rollorata said.

The Bohol Tribune joined the Cristal e-College team during the memorandum of agreement (MOA) signing at barangay Poblacion on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.

There were separate MOA signing events that took place on the afternoon of March 3, 2021 in Bil-isan and in Looc.

Poblacion punong barangay Rolando Cenista told the Bohol Tribune that he is elated about the donation made by the school and the machine will greatly help the students in their connectivity issues as they engage in online classes.

“Nagpasalamat ko nga miabot sa barangay Poblacion ang maong sistema sa natad sa education ug mikuyog sa kapanahunan labi na karon sa pandemic nga naay virtual [classes] aron dile ta maignorante sa atong barangay,” Cenista said.

Rollorata said Bil-isan barangay captain Albert Bompat and other barangay officials signed the MOA with Cristal e-College, while Looc barangay captain Wevina Co and other officials signed the MOA with the said school, Rollorata added.
