The Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) denies the plea of the Tagbilaran Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) to allow family members living in the same household to take the same tricycle cab.
This was disclosed by Kag. Eliezer “Ondoy” Borja in a radio interview on Thursday, Mar. 11, 2021 over Open Forum hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.
Borja said that he was informally informed that the BIATF denied the SP’s request to allow two people who belong to the same family and living in the same household.
Borja said that he was not given any reason for the denial of the request by the BIATF.
Last Feb. 19, 2021, Borja filed a resolution before the Sangguniang Panglungsod (SP) asking the BIATF to allow family members to take the same cab as it has been difficult for commuters belonging to the same family to take separate tricycle cabs.
Since May 2020, when Bohol was under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) up to now, government has firmly limited the number of passengers in every tricycle cab to only one. This is part of the measure to prevent the spread of the virus causing the Coronavirus disease (Covid).
Bohol is currently under the modified GCQ, which is the least restrictive form of community quarantine among all.
Some transport sector stakeholders sought the help of the SP to allow at least 2 passengers who belong to the same family and household to take the same cab, in order to save a little amount for transportation expenses on the part of the stakeholders.
