The province of Bohol joins the rest of the world in the celebration of World Water Day in simple ceremonies at the Capitol, according to information from the Provincial Information and Media Relations (PRIMER)
According to the report, the celebration highlighted the importance of producing clean and safe water for all.
Gov. Arthur Yap led the simple rites on Monday, March 22, 2021, at the Capitol’s Ceremonial Hall, the same report said.
The theme of this year’s celebration is “Valuing Water”. The celebration aims to raise awareness to everyone, the worldwide problem of obtaining clean and safe water. At the same time, it is also raising awareness among all re the value of water in agriculture and food security.
The governor, in his speech, urged the Boholanos to support all water projects being spearheaded by the provincial government.
Moreover, the current Yap administration has been putting huge importance on water projects as a way to solve the perennial water supply problem in the province.
The towns of Bohol each received P 1 million and some barangays in the province received P100,000 each to be used in water projects in their respective jurisdictions, from the provincial government.
