The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reports that only four (4) Bohol towns remain without any fire station, according to the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).
In a report by the PIA, only the towns of San Miguel, Danao, Lila and Duero are yet to have their own fire stations.
Most of the towns reported to be without fire stations, have already donated lots to the BFP for the construction of fire stations using a standardized design or architecture, to house the fire department personnel and the fire trucks.
Currently, at least 2 local government units (LGU) have more than 1 fire station and they are Tagbilaran City and Panglao.
Tagbilaran City has fire stations at the Old City Hall, in barangay Ubujan and the Central Fire Station.
On the other hand, Panglao has fire stations located at barangay Poblacion and in barangay Tawala.
As this developed, Bohol Fire Marshal Fire Chief Inspector Raul Bustaliño said that he is working for the acquisition of additional pieces of equipment for BFP Bohol.
He is working with local officials to acquire an aerial fire ladder and will be made available for fire stations in capital Tagbilaran and nearby areas.
The ladder is important in order to provide fire fighters the ability to put out fires in high-rise buildings.
