Staunch critic of Gov. Arthur Yap posts bail after he was arrested by Makati police.
Emmanuel “Willy” Ramasola posted in his Facebook account that his bail was processed on Thursday afternoon, March 25, 2021.
He was arrested following the release of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Josephus Baterna of the Regional Trial Court branch 49 in Tagbilaran City.
On March 25, 2021, Ramasola indicated in his social media account that a warrant of arrest for online libel was issued against him.
“Just in: Judge Baterna issues a warrant to arrest me in connection with the [Holy Name University] HNU libel case despite an ongoing petition with the DOJ for review,” Ramasola wrote on Facebook.
He added: “Do not be afraid. In the end, the good will prevail over evil.”
Ramasola’s arrest is in connection with the online libel charge filed by Holy Name University (HNU). Ramasola questioned the integrity of HNU Research Center Bohol Poll survey results conducted before the conduct of the 2019 midterm elections.
The said university reportedly filed the charges against the 48-year-old Ramasola, who is based in Makati.
Moreover, the Tagbilaran-native Ramasola has been a staunch critic of Gov. Arthur Yap and has been coming up with exposès alleging corruption in the provincial government.
