Panglao mayor Leonila Montero (standing, facing camera) speaks during the kick-off day for the aspirants’ training for the Philippine Navy (PN) Naval Reserve Command at the Panglao Cultural Center. In her speech, Montero focused on the importance of the role of the Navy reservists in the enforcement of the laws of the municipal waters, the conduct of maritime security operations, the protection and conservation of rich marine life, and the safeguarding of precious lives and properties at our seas. Mayor Montero also thanked the Philippine Navy for sending the reservists during the height of the pandemic. The reservists manned the Quarantine Control Points located at barangays Lourdes, Tangnan, and Libaong. The event took place on March 20, 2021. Contributed photo
