LGU-Tagbilaran employees attend recollection activities online
In observance of the Holy Week, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tagbilaran, under the leadership of City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II, initiates a spiritual renewal for all of its employees through an online recollection, the City Media Bureau reports.
Spearheaded by the City Human Resources Department, the online recollection activity invited Bro. Alejandro Aguspina, Jr. as resource speaker.
The enriching insights shared by Aguspina emphasized that activities such as the recollection provides the needed reflection, renewal and relaxation to one’s soul.
Moreover, during the recollection, Aguspina shared with the participants, encouraging biblical principles about the Lenten Season and emphasized that Lent signifies “new life”, foremost of which is renewing or strengthening our relationship with God.
Aguspina also encouraged the participants to take time to remember all the blessings that God has given us and prioritize reconciliation among family members and friends.
He also cited the importance of one’s commitment to change, a conversion of heart and priorities that would mean doing things differently.
The online seminar concluded that the Lenten Season is a time to become more aware of what life is all about, how to use one’s talents and the gift to help others. Taking the attitude of Christ is the key towards living a fulfilled life, Aguspina added. Christ, who is God, took the form of a man to be able to understand our struggles. Humility and Love should define our lives, as what Jesus Christ has modeled. All these are the key towards healing broken relationships, the speaker said.
More than 100 online participants representing the different units in the LGU, registered.
Aguspina emphasized that: Lent is one of the most important seasons where Christians remember how God sent Jesus Christ to save mankind from sins. As the sacrificial love of God provides for mankind’s salvation, it encourages each one of us to live a life worthy of his eternal love, not depending on our own human effort but totally dependent on His strength, wisdom, grace, and forgiveness.
