DA eyes swine multiplier farm in Bohol

The Department of Agriculture (DA) is eyeing on the plan to build a swine multiplier and technology demonstration farm worth P10 million, a report said.
DA-7 bared on Monday, March 29, 2021, that the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) will link up with local hog farmers and the local government unit (LGU) of Jagna for the project, with the aim to improve the swine industry in the Bohol and in the region.
The multiplier farm will have a 60-sow capacity, according to reports.
DA Undersecretary for Livestock Dr. William Medrano said that the farm is part of the government’s initiative to hasten the recovery of the economy and restoration of livelihood of farmers especially those hog growers impacted by the pandemic and African swine fever (ASF).
Reports add that the swine multiplier farm will be located inside the Jagna Eco Park in barangay Tubodmar in Jagna town.
