The Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV) program of Third District Rep. Kristine Alexie Tutor expands as two (2) more towns in the said district are becoming hubs.
The towns of Lila and Carmen are the new hosts of the PTV added to the four other towns in the district, the solon bared.
This was disclosed by Tutor during a radio interview on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, over Newsmakers ug Uban Pa, hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.
The solon reiterated that no government funds are being used for the operation of the PTV program. She added that the funds for the maintenance and operation of the PTV come from her own pocket.
“Let me emphasize, personal, kaugalingon nako nga kwarta, private funds walay bisan piso nga gikan sa gobyerno para niana [PTV project],” Tutor explained during the interview.
The four other PTVs are based in Candijay, Loboc, Sierra Bullones, and Jagna.
The solon clarified in an earlier interview that the PTV is not meant as an emergency response vehicle or an ambulance.
It is meant to provide transportation to indigent patients who need to go to places for their medical check-up or a follow up of the said check-up, she explained.
The PTVs will also be used to bring people from the hospital of confinement back to their homes as soon as they are discharged from the hospital.
Moreover, the vehicle may also be used to bring indigent patients to a government place/office where they would want to transact business in relation to their health needs.
The transport service is free of charge and will be available for the indigent patient via a booking system.
Meanwhile, Rep. Tutor said that her Pabahay program remains active and still provides low-cost housing to some indigent families in the third district.
The program started as a personal advocacy of Rep. Alexie and her husband Mayor Christopher to provide homes to indigent families.
The program started in Candijay town and has been replicated in other towns in the third district.
