Solon gets program updates from NGAs

As Congress is on recess, First District Cong. Edgar Chatto engages with national government agencies (NGA) to get updates on implementation of programs specifically for the first district of Bohol, according to a report from the solon’s office.

On Monday, March 29, 2021, Chatto hosted a series of video conferences with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Departmet of Agriculture (DA), National Irrigation Administration (NIA), the Department of Education (DepEd) Tagbilaran City and Bohol Divisions and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to discuss the various project implementation especially those concerning Chatto’s district.

In the virtual meetings, Chatto asked national agency heads to report on actual status of the implementation of various program of their respective agencies. 

Moreover, the solon also requested agencies to present a general picture and self assessment of their utilization of funds under the national budget.

The first series of meetings are in preparation for the 2022 budget, Chatto stated as he thanked heads of offices for the consistent partnership with his office and continued cooperation and collaboration as main implementer of programs.

The first district solon also lauded agencies for the efficient implementation of programs in the response to the Coronavirus disease (Covid) pandemic, meeting the target utilization for Bayanihan 1 and 2 funds in the first district.

The House of Representatives and Senate are in deliberations for a possible crafting of Bayanihan 3 to address ongoing surge in Covid cases, he said.

In last Monday’s virtual conferences attended by representatives of DOLE-Bohol, TESDA-Bohol OIC Virginia Namoc, DSWD-Bohol head Jimmy Crusio, DA-7 Regional Director Salvador Diputado and Bohol DA director Roman Dabalos, NIA-7 Regional Director Wilson Lopez, DepEd City Division Superintendent Dr. Irwin Lagura, DepEd-Bohol Superintendent Dr. Bianito Dagatan, DPWH-Bohol District Engineer Godofredo Laga, Jr., they presented the proposed priority programs for Bohol for possible inclusion in the 2022 national budget. 

Chatto said the NGAs will have busy days ahead as programs under the current year are being implemented.

He was able to get a commitment from the NGA heads here to continue to work closely with his office to ensure the proper implementation of programs.
