Mar family sets record straight on fire incident

The Mar family wants to set the records straight on ownership of the house gutted down early Saturday morning, April 10, 2021.

The family of Atty. Fermino Mar wants to strongly correct the reports that were aired on the radio and published in the e.newspapers (NOT THE BOHOL TRIBUNE and its RADIO PROGRAMS) about a gutted home along Tamblot St., barangay Cogon.

The family says the home is NOT OWNED by Atty. Fermino Mar but by his parents— Fermin and Dading Mar.

Atty. Mar’s mother, Dading Mar, now in her 90s, and her companions are the ones living in the said house that was razed to the ground.

According to Senior Fire Officer 2 Winifredo Racho of the Tagbilaran Fire Station, the initial damage estimate is pegged at P1.2 million.

Investigation is still going on to fully determine the cause of the fire that totally razed the house to the ground.

In a message, the Mar family members express their appreciation to the fire fighters from the Tagbilaran Fire Station, Dauis Fire Station, Bohol Quality Corporation and other fire volunteers and friends.
