Gov. Arthur Yap eyes to forge travel bubble pacts with select foreign cities in a bid to draw more tourists to Bohol and revive the tourism industry here.
He made the statement in a radio interview on Monday, April 12, 2021 over Newsmakers Ug Uban Pa hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Gloria Leodivica Ines Araneta.
He said Bohol cannot rely solely on Filipino tourists as domestic tourism can be easily impacted by lockdowns.
The governor is looking how tourism is being handled in Thailand and in Indonesia, where Phuket and Bali are accepting travelers from places with low infection rates.
He said that Bohol might open its borders to international tourists, if at least 70% of Boholanos are vaccinated and achieve the so-called herd immunity.
