Cong. Edgar Chatto tests negative for Coronavirus disease (Covid) after getting exposed to a person who is positive for the said disease.
The solon reportedly received his polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test result on Saturday, April 17, 2021, after he was subjected to swab tests on Friday, Apr. 16, 2021, according to sources.
The solon was tested after he was tagged as a first generation contact of a Covid-positive person, reports say.
Chatto was exposed to the virus when he visited a friend in Tagbilaran who tested positive for Covid.
Earlier, in a radio interview over NEWSMALERS on Friday, Chatto’s wife, Balilihan mayor Pureza said that even with a negative result, the solon will remain in quarantine for 14 days, as it is possible for symptoms to appear at a later date.
As per Balilihan town protocol, all persons tagged as first generation contact and second generation contact should complete a 14-day quarantine.
The Balilihan mayor said the solon was exposed to a Covid-person in Tagbilaran, hence he is considered first generation contact.
The mayor herself is also in quarantine since she is a second generation contact of the covid positive Tagbilaran resident.
