Panglao holds Dive Festival to spur tourism activities

After six long years, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Panglao once again holds another Dive Festival in a bid to spur more tourism activities in the said town.

This time, the members of the Panglao Association of Dive Operators (PADO) unite with key personalities of the LGU to ensure the success and proper staging of the Dive Festival.

The activity, dubbed as the “PANGLAO DIVE FESTIVAL”, will happen from May 4 to 9, 2021, according to information from the LGU of Panglao.

Moadto Strip, located at Modala Beach Resort, will be the venue of the 6-day festival, the same information said.

Aside from the various fascinating dive sites which the town of Panglao offers to domestic and national diving enthusiasts, the festival also offers an opportunity for diving enthusiasts to meet several diving-related suppliers and trade exhibitors who will display their latest gadgets and merchandise during the trade fair, which is part of the Dive Festival.

The underwater marine life of the dive sites of Panglao is now in its healthiest shape ever after it was left to naturally thrive during the several months of lockdown with only reef rangers giving care to the corals and conducting series of coral transplantation activities.

The richness of the marine life and underwater landscape of Panglao will surely be a sight to behold for the underwater photographers and the rest of the divers participating in the said festival.

Moreover, a free-diving competition will have its debut alongside the regular diving events, the information from the LGU revealed.
