Dauis mayor Marietta Sumaylo bares that a teen who is native of her town won medals in the Asian Weightlifting Championships.
Vanessa Sarno competed in the 71 kgs.-women’s category in competitions held in Uzbekistan on Wednesday, April 21, 2021.
According to reports from the Asian Weightlifting Federation, Sarno cleared 128 kgs in the clean and jerk event enough to cop the gold medal as she lifted 101 kgs. the snatch event enough for her to earn silver medal.
Tagbilaran’s Ellen Rose Perez, also competed in the said competion according to Sumaylo.
Moreover, Sumaylo said Sarno, a native of Purok 1, barangay Poblacion, Dauis, is expected to arrive in town by the end of the month.
