Aris to mayors: strictly implement protocol

(by June Blanco)

Expressing concern over the continuing rise in the number of active cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid) in the province now at 594 active cases according to the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) of April 24, 2021.
Second District Rep. Erico Aristotle Aumentado is urging all Bohol mayors to create task forces in their respective jurisdictions to strictly implement health protocol.
The solon added that “we do not know who the carrier is”.
“The Covid carrier can be the casual person one meets at the market, the parking area, the mall, the local government units (LGUs) or anywhere,” the solon quipped.
“Unless stricter implementation of health protocols is in place, one can expect the continuing rise in numbers,” he added.

“And no one wants his or her family to be victims of Covid,” he continued.
Task forces, especially in the barangay level, would be most effective at remindingresidents of the mask-wash-distancing protocol – and in providing orientation to violators, the solon said.
He is adamant in imposing fines as penalties. This is a hard time for the Filipinos – the Boholanos included.
The solon said, “Let them spend what little cash they now have on food.”
Violations can be a result of a persons‘ desperation  to find some food or desire to sneak at the front of the line to get some assistance before anyone else, the solon explained.
Aumentado added the bills and other monthly dues are a source of worry for most people especially those who are in danger of getting retrenched  from their respective jobs brought about by the Covid pandemic.
Moreover, health workers need all the help they can in order to implement the protocol, the Aumentado emphasized.
“The task forces can be their force multipliers in orienting or re-orienting violators on the importance of these protocols in order to pull the numbers down,” the second district solon quipped.
