A Philippine Air Force (PAF) helicopter crashes off the waters of Getafe town, with 1 person killed and three others reported as injured, according to Getafe police chief Capt. Fernando Peroramas.
In a telephone interview with The Bohol Tribune, Peroramas said the incident took place at around 9:45 in the morning on Tuesday, Apr. 27, 2021, off the waters of barangay Taytay, Getafe.
The Getafe police chief identified the fatality as a certain Capt. Aurelius Olano. The Getafe police chief added based on the initial investigation, Olano could be the pilot of the ill-fated PAF helicopter, Peroramas said.
He told The Bohol Tribune that the police have yet to get the identity of the 3 survivors of the helicopter crash, as of posting time.
Furthermore, the police chief bared that local residents were the ones who rescued the survivors and retrieved the remains of the fatality.
Additional reports said the Getafe disaster risk reduction and management office brought the survivors to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Moreover, the police are conducting a follow-up investigation regarding the incident.
