Unidentified assailants ambush 4 persons in Batuan

Unidentified assailants ambushed four individuals in Batuan town where 2 persons were killed, 1 man survived and 1 victim remains missing, according to reports.

The same reports said that the ambush incident happened on Monday afternoon, Apr. 26, 2021, at barangay Aloha, Batuan.

According to the same report, the 2 persons who died are identified as Rolando Pornis and Jaime Cagatin.

Furthermore, the report indicated that Antonio Muring survived the attack while A certain Michael Hinampas remains missing as of posting time.

Based on the initial investigation by the authorities, the four persons were riding motocycles and on their way home to Carmen, Bohol from barangay Aloha proper when allegedly six unidentified persons ambushed the four victims.

The same report revealed that the four persons, who are former rebels, conducted a meeting in relation to their anti-communist advocacy work in barangay Aloha.

The report added the four persons are members of New Guardians Association-Grupong Bol-anon Alang sa Kalamboan ug Kalinaw.

According to the same report, Muring, who survived the ambush, told the police that he knows one of the assailants as allegedly a member of the communist New People’s Army.

Moreover, the police are now conducting a follow-up investigation regarding the incident
