The suspect in a shooting incident in Tagbilaran was arrested by Danao police several minutes after perpetrating the alleged crime.
Executive Master Sgt. Tomas Torrenueva of Danao police told The Bohol Tribune this afternoon, Wednesday, May 5, 2021, that his colleagues arrested the suspect identified as Paulino Gonzaga.
Torrenueva added that the suspect was intercepted at a checkpoint at barangay Poblacion, Danao town around 10:40 am.
The suspect after hitting his live-in partner in the chest, fled on board a motorcycle to Danao where the former was arrested.
According to Torrenueva, Tagbilaran police already took custody of the suspect around noon Wednesday.
As this developed, Bohol police provincial director Col. Osmundo Salibo said he congratulates the police forces of Tagbilaran and Danao for the speedy arrest of the suspect.
He expressed his commendation to the police forces during an interview over Newsmakers Ug Uban Pa radio program today Wednesday, hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.
Gonzaga is the suspect in the alleged shooting of an employee of the Provincial Government inside the provincial motorpool near the district office of the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
The victim is being treated at the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) for a gunshot wound on the chest, reports bare.
