Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez

Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez took the helm of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) as the agency’s officer-in-charge (OIC).

This was confirmed by Provincial Administrator Kathyrin Pioquinto in a telephone interview with The Bohol Tribune thus morning, Friday, May 7, 2021.

Gov. Arthur Yap, in an unnumbered memorandum dated May 5, 2021, appointed Lopez as the OIC of the PHO.

Prior to his appointment as OIC, Lopez served as the assistant PHO.

Pioquinto added that the regular PHO, Dr. Reymoses Cabagnot is now assigned to the Governor’s Office.

Moreover, Cabagnot was given a special assignment to head the Special Projects Health Unit (SPHU) of the Provincial Government of Bohol.

With the new designation, Lopez starts to perform tasks and functions inherent to the position of the head of the said agency, according to the said memorandum of the governor.

Meanwhile, a special meeting will be held this afternoon, Friday, between the Department of Health and the data managers of Bohol via Zoom, where the main agendum will be the process of data reporting of Coronavirus disease cases in Bohol, according to Niel Oclarit, the DOH officer in Bohol.

The said meeting will also be attended by Lopez and other focal persons from the different towns in Bohol.

It can be remembered that the data about the Covid cases in Bohol being presented by the DOH were higher compared to the data presented by the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) causing confusion among the people.
