Col. Salibo’s initial order: Clean the police stations
The newly-minted Bohol police provincial director Col. Osmundo Salibo revealed that one of his initial orders to the chiefs of police in the province is to ensure that every police station is clean and orderly.
Salibo made the revelation during an exclusive radio interview on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 over Newsmakers ug Uban Pa Program hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.
Salibo, who assumed the post of provincial director of the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) on Apr. 16, 2021, said he took the cudgels to remind the chiefs of police all over Bohol to make sure their respective stations are presentable.
“We are catering people from the community. Hindi po maiiwasan na… hindi po kasi kami pwedeng hindi mag-entertain ng mga tao galing sa community. So, kung ang first impression nila [sa police stations] madumi, mapanghi ang CR, paano kami tutulungan ng comminity,” he told the program hosts.
Salibo explained further that it is impossible for any police force to reap success without the support of the community.
He believes that only by having clean stations can the police gain the much needed support from the community.
Salibo said he will start getting the community’s confidence by ensuring all police stations in Bohol are clean and presentable.
BOHOLANO’S RELIGIOUSITY
Salibo said that he sees the Boholanos deep sense of religiousity which means that the people in the province are lovers of peace.
During his trips around Bohol, he noticed that the province has plenty of century-old churches which reflect the deep religiousity of Boholanos.
FROM ILOCOS
Salibo, in the same interview, bared that he is from San Emilio, Ilocos Sur but his family is residing in Baguio City.
Before he entered the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA), he obtained his criminology degree from the University of Baguio. He is part of the PNPA class of 1994.
