Vice Guv, SP ensures health programs are included in the AOP

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan, led by Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos, ensures that health programs are included in the province’s Annual Operation Plan (AOP) for calendar year 2021.

In line with this, SP authorized Gov. Arthur Yap to enter into a partnership agreement with Department of Health (DOH) for the management and implementation of the approved health components of the AOP to improve the delivery of healthcare services in relation to the implementation of the Universal Health Care Act of 2019 and the “Fourmula One Plush for Health” program.

Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, the officer-in-charge of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) explained that every year the PHO is tasked to come up with a “Local Investment Plan” for health outlining the various needs of the provincial health system in terms of health resources, equipment, medicines, among others.

According to Lopez, under the partnership between the province and the DOH, Bohol shall receive an estimated allocation of P898 million in the form of trust fund grants from the national government.

It is the role of the provincial government to ensure that the various health programs are implemented here.

Dr. Lopez added that the “Fourmula One Plush for Health” program focuses on the key elements of the proper management of the healthcare system which includes health financing, health regulation, health service delivery and health governance.

For his part, Relampagos extends his full support to the program stating that this partnership with the DOH will be beneficial for the Boholano people in ensuring the capacity of the healthcare system here.
