A report from the Provincial Information and Media Relations (PRIMER) office revealed that Bohol will not be getting the vaccines made by Pfizer-BioNTech as only 3 areas in the country will be getting the said jabs.
This comes as Sec. Michael Dino, Presidential Adviser for the Visayas, announced on May 11, 2021, about 29,250 doses of Pfizer vaccines arrived at the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA).
He added that around 132,000 doses of AstraZenica vaccines also arrived in MCIA.
According to another report, it said that Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, the spokesperson of the Department of Health (DOH) in Central Visayas, said that only Metro Cebu will be the area in Central Visayas that will be getting the Pfizer’s vaccine.
Bohol’s lack of ultra low temperature freezers is the reason there are no Pfizer vaccines alloted here, according to Loreche.
In the PRIMER report, ProvincialHealth Office (PHO) officer-in-charge Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez emphasized that the Pfizer vaccine will be available only in Metro Manila, Metro Cebu and Metro Davao as these are the only places in the country with ultra low temperature freezers.
Moreover, Loreche said that Bohol will still get its vaccine allocation but it will not include a supply of the Pfizer Bio-N-Tech vaccine.
