Dr. Bianito Dagatan

The Department of Education (DepEd) in Bohol lists six schools located in six towns to be included in the pilot implementation of the face-to-face classes in the province.

This was revealed by Dr. Bianito Dagatan, Bohol schools superintendent, in a radio interview over Open Forum on Thursday, May 13, 2021, hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.

He mentioned the towns of Cortes, Alburquerque, Loboc, Candijay, Dagohoy and Getafe as the areas included in the pilot implementation of the limited face-to-face classes in Bohol.

The towns are chosen due to their low number of Coronavirus disease (Covid) cases. If in the event the cases surge in these towns during the implementation of the limited face-to-face classes, then the program will be either suspended or cancelled by the DepEd, according to Dagatan.

Dagatan clarified that the implementation of the limited face-to-face classes will depend on the go signal coming from President Duterte.

The Bohol division superintendent bared that before a school is included

In the implementation of face-to-face classes, there should be support coming from the learners parents via the Parents Teachers Association (PTA), the barangay and the local government unit (LGU).

He clarified only 20 learners per class will be allowed to attend the limited face-to-face sessions as the other learners who are not slated to attend the physical class will continue studying via modules.

In order to maximize the time, teachers will focus on subjects where the learners are having difficulties in their lessons, Dagatan explained.
