City Mayor John Geesnell Yap Ii commends the Tagbilaran Department of Education (DepEd) Division for its efforts to seamlessly implement the blended learning modality, a report from the City Media Bureau says.

The City Media Bureau said Mayor Yap stood as a witness during the turnover of pieces of equipment and gadgets coming from the DepEd regional office to be given to the Tagbilaran DepEd division in simple rites at the Seglim Hall of the Bohol Tropics Resort on May 5, 2021.

The mayor said: “I thank the City DepEd for their commitment to educate our learners amidst this pandemic. The adjustment is not easy, but they remained steadfast and pulled it through. Through the provision of equipment, we hope that we can be a part of maximizing the potentials of the learners in these difficult times”.

The City Government has been supportive of the implementation of the blended learning modality by providing the City DepEd division with a duplicator, a colored printer/copier, a heavy duty collator, a tabletop binder, an automatic heavy-duty stapler and a heavy-duty paper cutter for the reproduction of the modules that will be used in the blended learning modality.

These pieces of equipment are now placed in the Learning Resource Management System at the Tagbilaran City Central School.

The City Government also gave heavy-duty photocopiers which were provided to each of the public schools in Tagbilaran City.

Aside from the equipment for the printing of modules, the City Government through the Local School Board, hired learning aides to assist the teachers in the preparation and management of the blended learning modality implemented by the City DepEd.

Moreover, the learning aides assist the teachers in the production or reproduction of learning modules, activity sheets, and other learning materials up to the monitoring and tracking of the learners’ progress. The learning aides are also encouraged to guide the learners and parents to engage the students in other extra-curricular activities so that the students can still have a platform to learn holistically even during this pandemic.
