Police probe the killing of barangay kagawad

Police are still investigating the assassination of a barangay kagawad in Inabanga to determine the identity of the suspects and the motive behind the killing.

According to reports, a certain Lady Jaquiline Lago, 36, was allegedly shot dead in front of her 13-year-old daughter by at least four motorcycle-riding persons along a national road in barangay Luyo at past 1 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021.

It is reported that the victim is a village councilor of barangay Luyo, Inabanga town.

The same report says that the victim was engaged in online selling. She was waiting for a customer prior to the shooting incident.

The same report bared that Lago was still rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment but was declared dead on arrival.

The victim sustained three gunshot wounds in the head, neck and back that caused her instantaneous death, according to the report.

The initial investigation bared that the
scene of the crime operatives found several spent 9mm shells at the crime scene.

Meanwhile, the same report revealed that the victim’s daughter said that the perpetrators fled after the shooting towards the town of Buenavista.
