Mild earthquake jolts Sagbayan

A magnitude 3.5 earthquake jolted portions of Sagbayan town and neighboring town Talibon on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. The tremor occurred at 5:07 p.m. on Wednesday, according to reports.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said that the tremor’s epicenter was in Sagbayan town, the same report said. The Phivolcs mentioned that the earthquake was also felt in Talibon town.

The said earthquake did not cause any damage, the Phivolcs added in its report. Moreover, the earthquake, which had a depth of 7 kilometers, was tectonic in origin, the same report mentioned.

Meanwhile, no aftershocks were reported following the main tremor detected in Sagbayan, the Phivolcs bared.
