Bohol provincial government and 11 local government units (LGU) in the province were named eligible for performance based bonus for fiscal year 2020, according to reports coming from the Capitol.
The LGUs were deemed eligible for the PBB based on the stipulations of the joint circular of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the same report says.
Bohol is the only province in Region 7 and one of the 10 provinces nationwide eligible to receive the PBB.
The 11 LGUs in Bohol, which are eligible for the PBB are Tagbilaran City, Corella, Danao, Loon, Panglao, San Miguel, Sierra Bullones, Talibon, Trinidad, Tubigon, and Bien Unido.
According to the same report, to qualify for PBB, an LGU must satisfy all of the following conditions: 1. able to pass the minimum local governance standards; 2. set-up most current and updated Citizen’s Charter; 3) implement a Performance Rating System to be used on LGU personnel
and 4. sustained compliance with audit findings, among others.
For his part, Gov. Arthur Yap congratulated the 11 LGUs named as eligible for the PBB during an interview on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, over Newsmakers Ug Uban Pa radio program hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado.
The governor in the same interview said that the citation is a reflection of the kind of governance and leadership the local chief executives of the said LGUs have been showing to be eligible for the said PBB.
