PAGASA lifts storm signal no. 1 over Bohol

The Philippine Atmospheric and Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), as of early Wednesday morning, june 2, 2021, lifted storm signal no. 1 it hoisted over Bohol, according to the bulletin released by the said agency.

This comes as tropical storm Dante is now at the southwestern coast off Masbate and heading towards Romblon, the same bulletin revealed.

Tropical storm Dante has sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center, with gustiness up to 90 km/h.

Areas in the Visayas that are still under storm signal no. 2 are the extreme northern portion of Capiz, the northern portion of Aklan, and the extreme northeastern portion of Iloilo.

Moreover, areas in the Visayas under signal no. 1 are the western portion of Northern Samar, the northern portion of Leyte, the northern and central portions of Cebu, the northern portion of Negros Occidental, the extreme northern portion of Negros Oriental, the rest of Iloilo, the rest of Capiz, the rest of Aklan, and Antique.

Meanwhile, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Dr. Anthony Damalerio said that there is no casualty reported in Bohol at the height of the heavy downpour due to the influence of tropical storm Dante.

He said that as of evening of June 1, 2021, 82 families from different towns were evacuated to safety.

Damalerio said that 14 families in Candijay, 7 families in Loboc, 8 families in Balilihan, 20 families in Lila, and 33 families in Loay were evacuated to safety.

Furthermore, he said that there were some families who evacuated but already returned to their homes as the rains subsided last night.

The damage to property and agriculture is being assessed as of posting time, according to Damalerio.
