29 former rebels receive livelihood assistance from ECLIP

Around 29 former rebels received livelihood programs coming from the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP) worth P1,945,000 at the headquarters of the 47th Infantry Battalion (IB) in Carmen town on June 3, 2021, according to a report released today, Monday, June 7, 2021.

Out of the 29 former rebels, 16 of them received the financial assistance from the National Housing Authority (NHA) worth P100,000 each that is intended for their house renovation.

On the other hand, about 13 former rebels get a business kit from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) worth P10,000 each, the same report bares.

Moreover, 3 former rebels cash assistance from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) worth P50,000 livelihood assistance, P15, 000 worth of immediate aid each and P20,000 for firearm remuneration, the report says.

The turn over ceremony was graced by Usec. Reynaldo Mapagu, the chairman of Task Force Balik Loob, ECLIP and amnesty program cluster, Department of National Defense DND) together with Usec. Cesar Yano of capability assessment and development, the report further revealed.

Other officials who attended the said activity were Gov. Arthur Yap, Marcelino Escalada, Jr, general manager of NHA; Provincial Director of DTI Maria Soledad Balistoy; DILG‘s Roy Vincent Gaviola; officer in charge of NHA Region 7 Engr. Hermes Jude Juntilo; Office of the Provincial Social Welfare Development; Lt. Col. Allyson Depayso of 47IB; and Lt. Col. Larry Buansi from the Bohol Police Provincial Office

Mapagu thanked the former rebels for deciding to return to the folds of law.

“As you return to the government, it means that maybe you can see the sincerity of our president and his government in governing our country,” Mapagu told the former rebels.

For his part, Yap told the former rebels that the provincial government will continue to address the issues identified as the roots of the insurgency problem here in the province.
