Bohol to get its share of Pfizer vaccine says PHO

Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez

The officer-in-charge (OIC) of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) Cesar Tomas Lopez revealed, today, June 11, 2021, that Bohol will get its share of anti-Coronavirus disease (Covid) vaccine manufactured by Pfizer BioNTech.

Lopez made the revelation during the weekly press conference at the Capitol held this morning, June 11, 2021.

However, Lopez did not say the actual quantity of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines that will arrive in Bohol.

The OIC of the PHO bared that 3/4 of the supply of the Pfizer vaccine coming from the Department of Health (DOH) will be earmarked to the province and to be kept in the cold storage facility located at the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH).

Moreover, 1/4 of the Pfizer vaccine supply will be given to the Tagbilaran City government. The supply will be stored at the city government’s own cold storage facility.

Lopez said that Bohol needs to wait for the time when the DOH will be sending the supply allotted to the province.

It can be recalled that about 2.2 million doses of the American-made Pfizer BioNTech vaccine arrived in the country on June 10, 2021.

The vaccine doses came from the World Health Organization’s Covax facility.

According to reports, 210,000 doses will be delivered to Cebu, 110,000 jabs will be sent to Davao City and the remainder of the supply is for Metro Manila.

This is the second shipment of the said vaccine brand to the Philippines.

Back on May 10, 2021, the country received around 193,050 doses also from the Covax facility.
