Chatto oversees distribution of TUPAD benefits

While Congress is in recess, Cong. Edgar Chatto spent his time by overseeing the distribution of benefits to the beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) in the first district, according to a report coming from the said solon’s office.

On Thursday, June 10, 2021, Chatto led simultaneous distribution of wages for beneficiaries of the TUPAD in the towns of Dauis, Alburquerque, Baclayon, Sikatuna, and Panglao.

Dauis Mayor Miriam Sumaylo, Albur Mayor Don Ritchie Buates, Baclayon Mayor Benecio Uy, Sikatuna Mayor Justiniana Ellorimo, Panglao Mayor Leonila Montero represented by Executive Assistant Deo Guden graced the short programs to turn over the benefits to the beneficiaries together with a representatice from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Bohol field office and the project coordinator Kenny June Requeron.

TUPAD provides temporary employment to displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers through community work, according to the information coming from Chatto’s office.

This is the second batch of this year’s program beneficiaries , which Chatto facilitated with the help of the DOLE and the various local government units (LGU) through their respective mayors and Public Employment Service Officers.

Last Friday, June 11, 2021, Board Members Aldner Damalerio and Ricky Masamayor joined Chatto in the payout distribution in the towns of Maribojoc, Calape, Loon and Tubigon. Chatto and the board members were joined by Maribojoc mayor Romulo Manuta, Calapr vice mayor Junie Yu, Loon mayor Elvi Relampagos, and Tubigon mayor William Jao, respectively.

Moreover, Chatto expressed hope that the TUPAD program can help the families of beneficiaries during these hard times, encouraging them to continue to support government in its response to the pandemic.

Meanwhile, also on Friday, Chatto inspected several projects in the first district. In Maribojoc, Chatto inspected the ongoing construction of the Municipal Tourism and Information Center. He initiated the funds to build uniformly-designed tourism and information centers for municipalities in the first district.

Furthermore, Chatto also dropped by the Our Lady of Light Parish in Loon, where the restoration work is nearing completion.

The said Loon church, declared a national cultural treasure by the National Museum (NM) and a national historical landmark by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP).

The said church was completely destroyed following the 7.2 magnitude earthquake on October 15, 2013.

The first district solon also joined Mayor Jao in inspecting the town’s P15 million, 16-room modular isolation facility implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
