Clarin VM informs public of dredging work in town’s port

Vice Mayor Allen Rey Piezas

Clarin vice mayor Allen Rey Piezas, in a post on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, informed the public that a dredging barge is anchored off the town’s municipal port doing dredging activities.

Piezas said that the town council passed a resolution, which is Resolution No. 080, on April 10, 2018 asking the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) to conduct dredging activities in order to gain enough depth in the port waters to allow the docking of bigger sea vessels.

The vice mayor said that the PPA was only able to start its dredging activity at this time, when the port is not so busy due to the pandemic.

Furthermore, he added that aside from the Clarin port, the PPA is also conducting dredging at the Tagbilaran and Loay ports.
