National Museum turns over restored Plaza Rizal, Escuela De Niñas to PGBh

The National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) formally turned over, on Friday, June 18, 2021, the newly restored Plaza Rizal and the Escuela De Niñas building to the provincial government of Bohol (PGBh), reports from the Provincial Information and Media Relations (PRIMER) says.

Plaza Rizal and the Escuela De Niñas school building, located at the heart of the capital city, are part of the middle of Tagbilaran City’s heritage tourism circuit. 

Both the Plaza Rizal and the Escuela De Niñas are declared Important Cultural Properties (ICP) by the National Museum.

They have been included in the National Museum’s National Heritage Restoration and Reconstruction Program in the Visayas.
Last Friday’s ceremony was attended by Gov. Arthur Yap and National Museum’s Director-General Jeremy Barnes, First District Rep. Edgar Chatto and guests from the National Historical Commission of the Philippines and officials from City Government of Tagbilaran.
