Magandang Filipinas 2021 set to be staged here; SP backs Bohol’s bet

A newly-formed national beauty pageant is set to be staged here in the province as the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) throws its support to Bohol’s entry to the said pageant, a report from the SP says.

In a report, Katherine Topsnik, Bohol’s representative for the said pageant paid a visit to Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos and other members of the august body last week, June 22, 2021.

She dropped by during the pre-session of the SP to meet and greet the members of the provincial board and at the same time get some support for her upcoming competition.

Topsnik, 18, hails from Alburquerque but grew up in Guindulman, Bohol, and she is the official candidate of the Province of Bohol to the Magandang Filipinas 2021 tilt.

Topsnik said her advocacy is centered on the welfare of the mentally and physically disabled, as well as for the various risk reduction measures in the province.

Topsnik believes that joining the competition will also give her the platform to reintroduce to the world the province of Bohol, unveiling further its numerous beauty spots and treasures, and what it can offer to the rest of the Philippines and the world.

Magandang Filipinas pageant was launched by Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2018 Eva Psychee Patalinjug to give candidates a platform in the midst of the pandemic and the chance to highlight their uniqueness by advocating their chosen advocacies and causes which they are truly passionate about.

The organization aims to look for a queen who embodies beauty, grace and an unceasing compassion for others. The pageant further gives a chance for empowered women from all over the country to advocate for the issues close to their hearts and represent themselves at a new stage. It is a pageant that espouses social responsibility, advocacy work and community building.

The Magandang Filipinas beauty pageant will be held on August 8, 2021 in Panglao town.

Meanwhile, Relampagos and the rest of the SP extend their full support to Bohol’s official candidate in the said pageant.

Accordingly, the winner will receive P200,000 cash and the chance to represent the country in an international pageant which is yet to be named.Other candidates from Bohol are Sheila Marie Fraser representingTagbilaran City, Bohol, Jessa Mae Guillena who representing Dauis and Gerly Cotimar of Panglao.
