The 2 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) laboratories here in Bohol have suspended their respective operations starting today, June 29, 2021, according to reports.

The PCR lab at the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) suspends its operations starting today, June 29, 2021 and operations are expected to be restored early next week, reports say.

The same report adds the suspension of operations of the said equipment at GCGMH due to maintenance activities.

On the other hand, the PCR containerized laboratory owned by the provincial government suspends its operations also starting June 29, 2021 and will resume on July 1, 2021.

The report regarding the suspension of operations of the province’s PCR lab was confirmed by Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) spokesman Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez.

He said that the PCR lab is being subjected to periodic maintenance.

Meanwhile, reports reveal that all swab samples will temporarily be sent to Cebu for processing.
