The local government unit (LGU) of Dauis conducted a disaster management training participated in by department heads and selected section heads, according to an information from the LGU released on Thursday, July 1, 2021.
The said training, led by Mayor Marietta Sumaylo and Liga ng mga Barangay Dauis chapter president Josever Sumaylo, was slated to end on Friday, July 2, 2021 af the Bluewater Resort in barangay Danao, Panglao.
The training focused on the 3 major areas of concern as mandated by Republic Act 10121 such as planning and formulation with a workshop on plans fot Local Climate Change, Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, and Earthquake Contingency.
The training aimed to provide and formulate strategies, strengthen community resilience, and formulate plans to prevent emerging threats coming from natural disasters.
The said activity enables the LGU to come up with plans in efficiently managing resources via a contingency plan.
The activity also helps the LGU identify the hazards and formulate strategies to improve disaster preparedness measures.
The output of the said activity will then be cascaded to the members of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office headed by Queenie Fullante.
