Teaser No. 9: Is there a TOP TOWN OFFICIAL who is allegedly infected of the Covid-19 virus but wants to stop MHO contact tracing for one reason or another?

Allegations are now surfacing regarding a TOP TOWN OFFICIAL who has allegedly caught the virus causing the Coronavirus disease (Covid).

Allegations say that this TOP TOWN OFFICIAL has not ordered the disinfection of the municipal building. Indeed, it this is trued, this official should have placed the building under lockdown so that it could be disinfected.

Making things worse is the allegation that the Municipal Health Officer (MHO) was told to stop the contact tracing activities on the TOP OFFICIAL’s first generation contacts.

It is also being alleged that other town officials are eventually infected by the virus and their first generation contacts are going “free” to roam around.

This situation raises several questions:

1. Is the TOP OFFICIAL considered as the index case already in isolation?

2. Will the MHO defy the TOP OFFICIAL’s order and continue with the contact tracing activity?

3. Has the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force looked into the matter? What is their take of this?

4. Should the governor intervene and accost the town official for this kind of behavior especially that the governor himself has already given orders for a strict implementation of protocol?

6. Can we rest assured that proper authorities can dig deeper and look into this matter and find out whether or not this is true?
