Man hacked to death

A man was allegedly hacked to death in Tagbilaran City, Sunday night, July 4, 2021, according to police reports.

Reports said a certain John Alvin Cornito, 34, of Calceta St., barangay Cogon, Tagbilaran City was hacked to death.

The same report revealed that the suspects are identified as Teodoro Erato, 64, and Mark Kevin Rovilla, 24. A third suspect is identified as Myrna Erato, who allegedly handed a bladed weapon to the suspects who allegedly hacked the victim.

Initial investigation revealed that at around 7:50 pm Sunday, July 4, 2021, the police responded to an alarm saying that allegedly a man was hacked at Calceta street, in barangay Cogon.

Upon reaching the crime scene, the police saw the victim alteady bathed in blood. This prompted the police to bring the victim to the hospital, but was declared dead after a few moments.

Meanwhile, the police arrested the suspects who were still in the vicinity of the crime scene.

Witnesses told the police prior to the hacking incident, that allegedly there was a heated argument that happened between the victim and the suspects.

As of posting time, police are still investigating the incident as proper charges will be filed against the suspects soon.
