The Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (BIATF) requests that the national IATF resolution allowing interzonal travel of fully vaccinated persons without the need for a negative real time-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test result should be put on hold until there will be a mechanism to ensure that there will be no fake vaccination cards that will be used by persons wishing to enter Bohol.
BIATF spokesman Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez revealed this in a telephone interview on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 saying the doctors in Bohol are worried that fake vaccination cards may be used by persons wishing to enter Bohol.
Lopez said that the BIATF is not against the resolution of the national IATF but wants to have an assurance in place that would eliminate the possibility of the use of fake vaccination cards.
The national IATF allows interzonal travel to those deemed to be fully vaccinated.
Interzonal travel means the travel or movement of persons between provinces, highly urbanized cities and independent component cities under different community quarantine classifications.
The BIATF spokesman said if a national database is in place to counter check the data on the vaccination cards then Bohol will be implementing the national IATF resolution.
According to Lopez, the League of Provinces, reportedly is appealing to the national IATF about the implementation of the said order, asking for a system that will ensure that no fake vaccination cards will be used for interzonal travel.
On Sunday July 4, 2021, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said fully vaccinated people will only need to present their vaccination card for interzonal travel and will no longer be required to submit a negative swab test result.
