DOH says: LGU’s policy will remain as basic protocol in allowing interzonal travel of fully vaccinated persons

The Department of Health (DOH) in Central Visayas clarified on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 that the policy of the local government unit (LGU) will remain in effect despite the latest resolution of the national Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) allowing the interzonal travel of persons who are deemed to be fully vaccinated.

Dr. Mary Jean Lorreche, spokesperson of the DOH in Central Visayas made the revelation on Tuesday that it will be up to the LGUs to decide whether or not to allow fully vaccinated persons to enter without the need of showing a negative real time-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test result prior to arrival and the only entry requirement is the showing of a vaccination card.

As of the moment, Bohol still requires all persons wishing to enter Bohol to submit a negative RT-PCR test result prior to arrival, according to Bohol IATF spokesman Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez.

Meanwhile, the Department of the Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Epimaco Densing is slated to arrive here in Bohol this afternoon to take a look at the measures being undertaken by the different LGUs to mitigate the rise of Coronavirus disease (Covid) in the province, according to Lopez.

Densing is slated to meet with the different mayors of Bohol and figure out the solutions to help bring down the number of Covid cases in the province, Lopez told The Bohol Tribune in a telephone interview on Wednesday, July 7, 2021.

Densing’s visit is an offshoot of the meetings conducted last week between the mayors and other stakeholders including the provincial government which identified the possible reasons for the surge of covid cases here in Bohol.
