An executive order (EO) now allows children aged 5 and up to go out from their respective houses and visit outdoor destinations. This, according to the governor, is a move aligned with the easing of quarantine restrictions in places under the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) such as Bohol.

On Monday, July 12, 2021, Gov. Arthur Yap issued EO No. 35 series of 2021, which amended EO No. 54 series of 2020.

The new EO says children aged 5 and above are now allowed to go outdoors as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

The new EO is aligned with the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) Resolution No. 125 where the children are now allowed to visit parks, playgrounds, outdoor tourist sites identified by the Department of Tourism, hiking trails, outdoor dining establishments, and outdoor non-contact sports venues.

The children should observe the minimum health standards such as wearing of face masks and observing social distancing, according to the EO.

However, indoor buildings and facilities such as malls are off limits to children, the EO adds.
